Terms and Conditions

Last updated: September 17, 2026

These terms govern your use of accrU, a personal finance ledger that lets you track accounts, budgets, bills, and investments on either a cash or accrual basis. By creating an account or using accrU, you agree to these terms.

What accrU is

accrU is a consumer bookkeeping tool. It lets you record accounts, transactions, budgets, bills, recurring schedules, holdings, and net worth history, and choose whether your reports recognize activity on a cash basis or an accrual basis. accrU is not a bank, broker-dealer, investment adviser, tax preparer, or lender, and nothing in the app is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

Your account

You must provide accurate information to create an account and are responsible for keeping your password (and, if enabled, your two-factor authentication method) confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including transactions entered by anyone you invite to a shared account.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use accrU.

Accuracy of your data

accrU calculates balances, budgets, income statements, balance sheets, net worth, and debt payoff projections from the accounts, transactions, prices, and rates you enter, import, or connect. These figures are only as accurate as the data behind them. Investment holding values and interest projections in particular rely on prices and rates you maintain manually and may not reflect real-time market conditions or your actual loan terms. You are responsible for reviewing your data and reconciling it against your financial institutions.

Connected accounts and imports

If you connect a bank, brokerage, or other financial institution, you authorize accrU to retrieve account and transaction information from that institution through our data provider on your behalf. You can disconnect a connection at any time from the Connections page. If you import a CSV statement, you are responsible for confirming the mapping and accuracy of the imported rows before committing them to your ledger.

Shared accounts

You may grant another accrU user view or edit access to a specific account. Anyone you grant edit access to can add, change, or delete transactions on that account. accrU is not responsible for disputes between you and a person you have shared an account with, and you can revoke access at any time from the Accounts page.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use accrU to violate any law, to misrepresent your identity, to attempt to access another user's data without authorization, or to interfere with or disrupt the service. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms.

Service availability

accrU is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and features such as recurring transaction automation, alerts, and net worth snapshots depend on the app being reachable and, where noted, on scheduled background jobs running as expected.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, accrU and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including decisions made based on budgets, reports, debt payoff simulations, or investment summaries generated by the app. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Your data and privacy

Our Privacy and Financial Data Policy explains what information we collect, how connected-institution data is handled, and how you can request access, correction, or deletion of your data. You can close your account at any time by contacting us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as accrU changes or as legal requirements change. We will update the date above, and if a change is material we will provide additional notice in the app. Continued use of accrU after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
